Become a student support for an inmate in Jyderup Prison

The Youth Red Cross is looking for a volunteer student support worker for inmates in Jyderup prison on Zealand. As a student support worker, you will meet with the inmate approximately once a week and help with homework, exam preparation, structure and motivation, among other things.

We offer:

• Meaningful volunteer work where you can make a significant difference for some of society's most vulnerable
• Unique insight into the prison world, which is a closed country for most people
• Education and experience with structured student support and relationship work
• Sparring and exchange of experiences with other student support organizations

To become a student support volunteer, you must:

• Commit to meeting with the inmate in Jyderup prison approximately once a week.
• Commit to providing study support for 3-6 months until the course is completed
• Be between 20 and 35 years old.
• Have a clean criminal record and be able to pass security clearance
